Replaced battery... but didn't need to

Last week... wife calls... CX-5 battery is dead

I should have gotten tested but at 3 years thought maybe dead (and disapointed) and other stuff going on so wanted quick fix so bought a new battery at O'Reilly Auto.

Worst case I use former battery on one of my solar power projects.

Sure enough... I noticed map light got left on when I replaced battery. IIRC... this area gets turned off in the '16+ models.

I've notice more than once hitting it when sunglasses get put away. Just warning/reminder for other '13-'15 owners and surely another thread here somewhere.

sucks you ended up buying another battery but at least you'll put it to use with your solar power projects.
Also, didn't realize that light turned off automatically on some of the newer models. Pretty sweet.

My wife has done this over 10 times so far. It's gotten to the point where I go out and check the car every time she comes home from work.

Ugg- now that's what I call high maintenance:)
Thought my '14s battery wasn't gonna make the winter either though- definitely laboring heavily on those low single digit mornings we had- I'll probably change it before next winter assuming a '17 isn't sitting in my driveway by then.

Yea 4 years next month on mine and I never had a battery last 4 years on any Japanese car I've owned.

I had the cops ring my doorbell at 4am thinking about a possible auto burglary because my wife left hers on.
