i removed a windshield sticker from the car. I have removed all the adhesive and its not sticky anymore. the window is clean and clear when dry. however, when it rains, you can see the drops of water on the windshield form the outline on the window where the sticker used to be. its pretty interesting since you can't see anything when its dry and when its wet you can read and see what was there before. like i said, its not sticky and i can't really feel it with my fingers. how do i remove this so that the window is totally clear when its dry and when its wet?

i tried rubbing alcohol, spic and span proffesional, glass cleaners and vinegar/water solution - nothing helps.

It is caused by the adhesive residue sticking into the microscopic "pores" of the glass (if you look at a piece of non-fire polished glass in a ridiculously powerful scope you find out that glass is not as smooth as it looks) Try something like Rain-X...Water "shedders" work by filling the same pores and dips that your adhesive is hiding in...It won't remove it, but will fill the surrounding poors evenly and probably get rid of the water congregating where the adhesive stops (the edge of where the sticker used to be)...and the rain-x will probably wear off about the same time that adhesive residue does...It will eventually go away on its own, but with the Rain-X you will no longer see it I bet...

yeah, what he said...i was gonna say rubbing alcohol, but you said you did that already,
