Removing Kenwood HU

This has probably been covered a bunch of times, but I couldn't find my answer searching this forum or the entire forum. How the hell do you remove the stock Kenwood HU? I put the tools in, I started pulling, and it stopped after coming out about 2 inches. Is the security screw in the back done at the factory? If so, how the hell do you get behind to take it off? Links to instructions or pictures would be helpful as well.

judging from where you're at, there's just a rubber piece that gets stuck in the metal framing behind the HU...
pull a lil bit harder.. that's all

Really, that's it? The car's interior is near perfect, I didn't want to risk breaking something, but I guess you risk that any time you pull things apart. I'll try it tonight.

put some painters tape around the edges of your dash, so you dont scratch it.

Yeah I moved mine down so I could put my gauges above it, it wasn't hard, I didnt have the rubber connector, there was one on the little black box below the radio, but the radio just needed a nice little tug, I lost my keys so I actually used 2 butter knives and I got it out in about 5 minutes.

also, you can take out the glovebox and reach up behind it to either help push it out, or to move wires. the cables on mine had foam/tape around the connections that was getting caught on the metal.

I figured he was pass that..
to remove the glovebox, you have to push the side inwards then it'll come right out.
