LOVE THE CX-7!!! Not a CX-7 Issue!
So I purchased a Electric Blue Touring CX-7 w/tech about a week ago. The vehicle is great and I want to drive it all day long! My issue is that the dealer I purchased it from is just plain skuzzy (if that is a word). I had some personality conflicts with a sales person during the negotiations so another sales person took over and they found the vehicle I wanted for the price I wanted and I purchased. During the purchase process the owner of the store came over and spoke with me and told he wanted to change my idea of the dealer because I told t hem that I did everything I could to find the vehicle I wanted from another dealer instead of theirs. One of the reasons why I purchased from this dealer is that there is only one Mazda dealer in town (colorado springs) and the next one is 60 miles away. I tried to find the electric blue somewhere else but I couldnt but somehow they could. Anyways, I figured it was a good sign the owner was trying to make up for the issues I had during negotiations but I dont think my sales person wanted to work with me. He was supposed to call me to see how I liked the CX-7 but the only call I received from him was the day after asking me to come in and sign the check I forgot to sign. So I figure ok, who cares, he is just a sales person. So, I send the guy an email asking how much the clear bra is for the CX-7 and he writes back:
Clear Bra usually goes for $499 on the sticker rob said to do it for $200 for you. Let me know if you want that added on.
I figured this was a good deal. Later in the day I got a call from service about scheduling the homelink mirror and fog lights install that I added to the sale. During the conversation I asked if I could add the clear bra to the order and he said yes and it would be $160. I asked him if he was sure it was $160 and he said yes because they do so many of them. So, I write back to my sales person about the price asking if the $160 product is the same as the one he quoted for $200 and he responds:
It's the same product. Service was swamped - so I asked rob what we sell the Clear Bra for and off the top of his head he said $200. I'm glad it's lower and not higher.
On the new cars it's just additional profit. People always want to negotiate price so it gives us a little more room to work.
Ok, so is it me, should I really have to continue negotiating with my dealer once I am a customer and want items added to my car?
I really want to keep the CX-7 but I dont want to drive 60 miles to avoid my dealer for service?
I mean WTF cant they treat me like I paid $30k for a car? I got more service when I bought my Chevrolet Cavalier for like $14k!!!
I know this may sound stupid, but I am honestly thinking about not going with Mazda, taking bluebook and getting a different brand from a company that treats me right... but I really like the CX-7...
I am sure this post will get flamed, but I just needed to vent...
