As we get closer to Christmas, property crime can increase.
Whether your car is parked in a home garage or a shopping mall lot, incidents can sometimes happen while you’re away — from theft and hit-and-run collisions to occasional intentional damage. A dashcam with parking monitor mode can help provide extra protection for your car and give you some added peace of mind.
What is Parking Mode?
Parking mode allows a dashcam to continue recording even when the car engine is turned off. Most of our dashcams, such as the 4K 3-Channel F17 Elite, and 4K 2-Channel ViewClear 70 come with two types of parking mode:
Collision Detection:
The dashcam automatically starts recording and saves video when a collision or impact is detected, with three adjustable sensitivity levels. It does not need to stay fully on while the car is parked, which minimizes unnecessary recording and saves power.
Time-lapse Recording:
The dashcam records continuously at a lower frame rate, capturing long periods of activity and compressing them into shorter videos. This helps save storage space while still documenting events over time.
