I'm having my local mechanic replace my stock motor mounts after he pointed out that the sides and rear mounts are ripped. He says I need to buy the OEM mounts, but the Mazda parts are just too pricey compared to the aftermarket types out there. I'm contemplating getting a set from Pep Boys: either Anchor or Beck-Arnley. The Anchor are slightly more expensive, but I feel like Beck-Arnley has a decent reputation from other parts I've bought from the label. I'm not familiar with Anchor at all.
Anyone have any experience with the mounts from either of these manufactures, or any advice on OEM-type replacements? I'm really not interested in any performance-enhancing (and vibration-inducing) racing mounts or the like. Just looking for good replacements for my Protege5, which is just a daily driver I'd like to get back into shape.
Thanks all, very much appreciate it.
