Hakkas
I have run Hakka 2's on my 04 Maxima for the past 3 years. Really nice, we live off a dirt road.
Pretty funny when you put them on before the ground freezes, the dirt just throws out of the tread make loud noises in the fender walls that my summer tires do not make. Thats a good thing if you didn't know!
The tires do not turn into racing slicks when debris or snow gets in them. It chucks anything out of the tread with ease. This is most likely due to the way the treads are made to push around so much almost squeezing the snow then expanding during breaking and acceleration.
The studs held up great, on 4th season now
My cars have been 4 mustangs (all 5.0's, modded, one supercharged)
the 04 Maxima, 07 Speed 6, Jeep Cherokee for the dog...dump w/3inch lift sporting BFG's M&T's<<very nice tires as well without getting too crazy.
ATV's, snowmobiles, dirtbikes, street bikes, blahh blahh just giving an idea of my XP with crap over the years.
Anyway I have tried a lot of tires, most of the mustangs I had to run in the winter so they had snows, 2 of them had 3.73 gearing. (back when getting a winter car just meant 1 less modification I could do)
I am not a stranger to hairy winter driving.
Hakka 2 so far is the best tire I have had. I always get the studs as well, why not!! If you think how much help a stud can give you in the winter vs. the real performance gain everyday from some of most expensive performance tires the studded tires in NE where we get many black ice days is well worth the performance gain and safety of you and your toy.
If your car is over 7 years old just get Continentals!!! ;-)
(lol)
Cheers!
