Hey guys ,
Just wanted to share with you.
I got my CX-9 used with 80k miles on it a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to change every possible part that could be replaced for preventive maintenance.
I got some busted ball joints up front , so ordered 2 Raybestos Control arms (Part No. 5071644 and 5071643) , SKF (FW50) front wheel bearings , and Raybestos rear hubs and bearings (No.712335).
The front control arms , didn't fit the stock bolts , so i had to get new ones , the mechanic told me , so that was done.
Then , the rear ones , also needed new different bolts , after a whole day installing , they came to put on the wheels ,to find that the wheels didn't mount.
Turns out the wheel pilot diameter on the hubs was bigger , 70mm , and the wheels are 67mm.
Had to leave the car there , and finish the work today , taking everything off again ,and putting on the old ones , they are not busted though , but wanted to have all the parts that do suffer in this car changed already. Guess that what happens when trying to be too preventive. I looked around and saw that the TIMKEN brand ones , do state in the description , that they are 67mm , they are a bit more expensive , but guess that's what you pay for. I spent more than that for work hours on the car.
Now gotta return these ones back , and pay for intl' shipping also.
Anyone had any thing like this happen .
Regards ,
