Rear hatch not unlocking (2014 CX-5 Touring)

Hi all,

I've noticed that my rear hatch will not unlock when the car is running, even if it is in park. I seem to remember it used to unlock in this situation, which is useful when dropping off/picking up someone with luggage. If I kill the engine it will unlock. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestion for a quick fix?

On page 3-19 of your owner's manual ....you did look for this in the manual, right? ....it says "While the ignition is switched ON, the liftgate can be opened only when the vehicle is stopped with the parking brake applied (manual transaxle), or with the shift lever in the P position (automatic transaxle)." So the behavior you're describing is a problem that should be addressed by the dealer next time you have to visit them.

Same issue here... I thought this was the way CX-5 was designed so I didn't bother asking lol.
