Rear Finisher

This might be a stupid question but I cant figure out what this thing is.

I have stared at the picture I downloaded from the website for this on and went and looked at my car and cant find the difference.

So what are people paying for when they purchase this?

My car does not have one. I have the plain old painted bumper w/o the finisher; thus I have gouged it up a few times placing heavy objects in the back.

Yes, it's the chrome.

What's really confusing about the description from Mazda is that it always states "color matching" which doesn't make sense for a chrome piece. Some online sites let you pick the color, which doesn't make sense resulting in confusion for customers.

Rather funny that the BMW folks who got chrome trim work their ass out to shadow line it with vinyl, while the mazda folks who usually get the color matched would pay to get it chrome.....haha....everyone just wants to change something.....

For me the less chrome the better, whether it is a Mazda or a BMW/Benz. I hate chrome anything..I will leave the bling-bling to my ghetto fabulous peeps out there...LOL!

Amen Brother. Another reason I don't want a GT.

What parts of the GT are chrome that the Touring are not? I have the GT and don't think there is that much chrome. I've never really looked at the T up close so, I don't really have anything to compare to.

I know for sure the GT has the chrome outside handles and the rear bumper chrome step pad, in addition some dealer will pre-install the rear chrome finisher on the hatch, just to finish up the bling-bling factor.

I bought my CX-9 used and it came with OEM 18" chrome wheels and I hate them, but I do not have the money to upgrade my wheels at this time. :(

It also has chrome around the windows and on the front grille just below the hood. I actually like the little extra bling bling. I've seen more gaudy examples of a chromed out vehicle before.
