RE group buy

I've never heard of RE , what would you compare these too sound wise?
I'm gonna do some research over the net, but just wondering

I like listening to rock, techno, rap, and country
pretty diverse, would I be better with 10's or 12's I use to have 10's in my civic hatch and liked those. Also For these prices what are the subs like, I'm still trying to do some research so don't think I'm making ya answer everything :)

good luck finding an unhappy resonant engineering customer ;) most people who buy them end up buying more, going bigger, and recomending them to everyone they know. they have a solid track record and have not had the QC issues certain other internet sub companies have had. they are also backed by thier parent company destijl engineering, who has made subs for onyx and a few others, including the brahma from adire audio.

all thier sub lines sound great and perform well above their price point. the RE10's are normally $59 plus shipping, so this is a helluva deal. i'm probably going to order a few 10's and 12's just to have on hand for when people need a good sub for a great price.

i see pairs of the RE10's being sold used for over $100 on the car audio forums.

I've in the market for a component set. Are there any members who have a set in Virginia that I can listen to?

(I'm not really asking you directly wake, it's a question for the board)

I have alpine type R's right now but it's only because i'm waiting for my MB Quart Premium 6 1/2"s to come in. I'm in northern virginia (Leesburg) if you're ever up this way.

Nice prices, I wished it covered there higher end lines though.

My question is what would the 10's that they are offering be compared to?
I have a goal of 500 dollars for subs, amps, wires, and box

Anything cheaper sure is better
Two of their subs = <100 dollars
Amp = 200 dollars
Box + Wires = 100 dollars (unless I make my own)

I mean would that be worth 400 dollars?

posters in the thread seem to think it is a great deal and i am looking for a decent set of 10" subs to replace cheap mtx ones and $84 shipped for the pair is hard to beat, damn i am tempted

im not good at all the spec reading crap so can anyone tell from the specs on the re10 sub if it will sound decent in a .9cuft sealed enclosure?

i've heard these subs before, but are they really that cheap? looks skechy to me.

yes, because it is a group buy/pre order. david is the one that posted it, in the RE forum, so it's totally legit. they've done these group buys many times before. the sad thing is that some people buy the subs then sell them later for a higher price.

NoRotor,NoMotor, is that .9 cu ft for a pair, or each? they would work great in a .9 cu ft per sub. but call RE directly for the best info, they are very knowledgable and helpful.

pimpprotege69, .316 cu ft. they should handl 200-300 watts rms no problem in sealed.

1sty, find someone that wants a few subs and order everything together and get the 15% off.

ZeroAccess, it's hard to compare subs. there are so many variable to give an accurate comparison. the motor strength, the suspension, the enclosure, etc, are all hard to say what sounds similar. but from my experience, i'd compare them to w3v2's from JL. RE's sound great, and have excellent linear movement. pick up a nice amp like this one:

that is rockford fosgate selling on e-bay. they clear out old and refurbished models there. you're not going to find a better amp for the money.

or go for a sexy gunmetal amp that is very rare:

I've hooked systems up before but they were VERY basic,
These amps being XXXwatts x1 @ X ohm's ..

The main thing I am talking about is the 1 channel, could that amp power two subs?
Also , if you could do me a huge favor and look at the thread I created in these same subforum, I am wondering if I should do anything to those pioneer's in my car (such as slap an amp to them) or replace them with something else.

it is .9 per sub, but i already decided i am gonna buy a pair:)

i was looking at the MbQuart subs on sale at cardomain.com for $120/pair, but at $84 shipped for two i have to give these RE's a trt

hopefully they wont mind the 250 watts each i will be giving them

I want two 10" subs,
If anyone wants to go in with me and get 15% off, I can't think of anything else I need at this second

will one of the 8 inch ones fit in the stock Mazdaspeed Protege. and is this a 4 ohm sub?

they definitely won't. i've got some tang band 8" subs that are very similar in specs to RE8's that i've done some testing with. i've sent 2000 watts to a trio of them. i also sent 2 to a buddy of mine to compare to the RE8's. his conclusion was that the RE8's had a little better low end response. he was sending 500 watts to each 8 in the comparison. he's been sending 1000 watts to his pair of RE8's for over a year now.

chaos2015, they are dual 4 ohm VC's. i'm not sure if they'll fit in the stock location.

ZeroAccess, you'll want an amp that is 300-500 watts rms x 1 at 1 or 4 ohms.

For anyone that is familiar with these components:

-What would you compare the XXX6.5s to?
-and the RE component set?
