Hello,

Just joined up today. I've been a CX9 owner since Nov 2007. Traded in wifes 2000 Accord for dealer driven White GT AWD here in Houston once 2nd child came along. We have been very satisfied customers since, with some 68,000 trouble free miles. The CX9 has seen Breckenridge, Co for ski trips as well as Destin, Florida towing our Starcraft 18RB Hybrid Travel trailer, all without incident.

Cruised this site for a while before purchasing recent Yokohama Parada 255-50-20 tires based on positive feedback form here as well. Tires were a big improvement over Bridgestones, especially regarding quieter ride. Broke them in on 1300 mile Destin trip earlier this year.

My initial question is in regard to tailgate rattle which has become quite annoying. Anyone else with similiar issues and possible solutions?

I also have that annoying squeek from front suspension while crossing speedbumbs, have seen previous right ups on this and have tried solutions with no long term fix.

Other options on Vehicle: Rubber Mazda Floor mats, AWD emblem!, customized replacement 2" hitch modified to fit within existing factory 1.25 hitch lower bumper cutout-no ugly gap, Yakima 58" roof rack with flair and three yakima bike holders.

Welcome to the forum.
I am afraid that you have to describe the "rattle" more precisely.
If you can't spot anything loose outside, the problem might be inside the hatch.
You can remove the inside penal of the hatch to see if anything is loose.

As for the squeak over the bump, what have you tried?
Have you tried to grease the bump stop at the top?

Have you checked the license plate bolts, are they snug? Or could it possibly be related to your hitch? Do you have the lock on the hitch. It's been my experience the locks never fits the hole snugly and could be rattling around. If neither, does it make the sound over certain road types, at a certain speed, when the car is loaded/unloaded, do you have the power tailgate, etc.?

License plates would be the first thing to check esp if you have a frame. Mine was slightly bent and was touching the paint so I just bought some of those little utherane bumpers and stuck it on the corners and near the bolt holes. No more rattling when I boost the bass.(whistle)
