I searched the site and and I didn't seem to find anyone who had my probelm. The closest thing was the infamous 'KNOCK' from the sway bar bushing that inflicts a lot of MSP's and MP3's.
Mine seems different. It's a rattling noise that is slowly getting louder that occurs when I start and stop. It also gets bad the longer I drive the car and now when the car is at a stand still and I turn the wheels from left to right there is an additional clicking.
It seems that it is mostly on the left side. When you place your hand flat on the shock tower on the right you don't feel anything while someone is in the car turning the wheel. But when I place it flat on the left tower, you can feel a slight hop. Which led me to believe it was the tie rod. It's not. The reason I know is because next, again while someone is in the car turning the wheel to recreate the noise, I put my hand on the tie rod itself and although I feel vibration, the rod itself is not popping or making any kind of aggrivated movement. Which makes me think either...A. my steering rack is becoming increasinlgy shot to hell or B. it's something stupid that is either lose or worn down like a bushing and needs to be replaced. Luckily the car is in Warranty but I am not happy to say the least. I have done nothing but baby my P5 and never hit any large potholes etc...and now after only 30,000 miles, this is what I get. (sad1)
Any one expeirience this type of issue? (uhm) Lemme know if you did and what it was or how it was fixed. Thanks (nana)
