Ok, So Im driving home from my womans house. I got my 16 steelies, no wing, and the car has more filth on it then the AVN awards convention.

She is running great, and has been since I wound her out on the turnpike. :D On top of that, at 3 lights tonight, I recieved 2 tumbs up (1 from a soccer mom in a caravan) and a "DAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMM"(al a Friday) from a guy in a frikin EVO.

So Im stoked, and thinkin about my plans for the car, and blah blah, then it hits me. I have one of the rarest cars on earth. It is soon to totally not available. ITs boosted, paint is kick ass, it handles like its on rails, and the other local Spicy Orange is sitting at the dealer with about 9k worth of damage. (I kinda hope its totalled out so I have the only one, and one to pick parts off at the Canablization yard.)

I have falled back in mad love with my Protege, even with its little squeeks, creeks, and annoying habits. I can look past these things, know I can personally fix them, and have one of the nicest, rarest cars in the world. (BTW, im refferring to the color of the car, less the 550 out there I bet now)

We should nto b**** that much about our cars, many more have worse issues then us. Most women would rather be in a Pimp Protege, then a Neon (not knocking it, just a statement) and again we are BOOSTED. :D I think, we as owners, should WORK WITH mazda to make this car, and all future Mazdaspeed vehicles, the pinnacle of off the lot, ready for the enthusiasts car. :D

haha...mayn, like a month or so ago, people were posting threads about how they hate their car. now the new trend is how everybody is looking past that and loving their car.

well, that's GREAT !!! don't you feel lucky ? you're the only Spicy Orange within miles...there's another titanium at my school damn it ! haha...ahh well, good to hear that you love your car again !

Well, it really was not AIMED at the car, more MNAO. I was starting to not like it, but damn, there is just something when I drive now, its almost orgasmic. :D

Yeah man I agree I love driving my car no matter what anybody says on this forum. This is just the coolest car IN THE WORLD (that I personally could own )and I cant wait for all the mods im gonna do to her.

I agree with you guys. I haven't owned mine all that long, but I loved my MP5 before this car and this one is much better in power, handling and has the same great comfort for touring as the MP5. The number of issues are small and are minor in comparison to many, many other cars out there. I almost bought one of the first SVT Focuses back in 2002, but got tired of waiting for it and bought the MP5 instead. I am damn glad I got the Mazda after all the problems with the SVT. If only they had a turbo in the MP5 from the factory. :(

When driving I have noticed the car draws either "wows" or "you a-hole" attitudes from others cause of the "sport compact" look to it. :) F'em I say! Drive on and enjoy! ;)

I love that feeling of never seeing a car like yours when you're out driving. I didn't see more than a few when I was at college earlier in the year in Cincinnati. Then I come to work, and there are 2 other people with them here! I freakin live in Wooster, OH. Anyone heard of it? I didn't think so. So now I come to work and there's another titanium and a blue chillin right next to mine every day. It's all good though, cuz we spend all day talkin about our cars instead of doin any real work. I love it!

MPS for life!

See, this is all we needed. Some group therapy, and we are all back in love iwth our problematic, but wonderful rides. :D

I cant wait to wash her this weekend. I gotta get some picks of her clean with the STEELIES on. :D

Tell ya what, I have purchase new cars from every major brand and I spent the first few months with every one of them in and out of the shop. But, I am WAY anal about getting the car right while its new and under warranty, this strategy has served me well as I expect 100k from my vehicles. BTW a mileage number I reach in ~3 yrs.

I could have bought an EVO a Subby STI a RSX-S or a BMW 330/540 etc. But after driving the MSP, there was no way I could justify spending near twice the amount (exc. the RSX) or more. The MSP is a wicked fun car to drive and I wont loose my shirt on it. I traded an Eddie Bauer Expedition with everything in on it. The 99 expy was 38k new and the trade value was 15k. I lost >23k on the deal, over all, not counting tax or interest or repairs. I realize that they are completely different vehicles but, they way I use them they aren't.

Those of us who got the rebate pricing on the MSP got Excellent deals. But I have to say that if the RSX-S was the same price it would have been a tough descision because the RSX is a lot more refined. ( ie leather, cruise, sunroof, etc.)

No doubt I love my msp... I've had it now for 2.5 months, about 2700 miles on it. You'd think I was driving a lamborghini or something, with the "looks" I have gotten. I don't know how many times I think about it, but for the car we have, and the price we paid... wow. A guy here at work has a brand new bmw M3... awesome car, and he always parks next to mine, says he likes it, and it looks cool with both of them parked together (we park away from all other cars). Just think... he paid about 50 grand for his ride, and it beats my car by only 2 seconds. ;) 0-60

Bang for the buck

Yes, that is right on the money. Bang for the buck, this is a great car, especially with the rebates and Ford discount I got. I paid the same as my S-Plan MP5. Also another reason I love my motorcycles, cheap comparitively and will beat the pants off most cars under $ 60K. :D

Man I have always ahd MAD LUVS for ma Mazda Speed (k) (humpleg) (k)
I have only really had the clunk to complain about. And that will soon be fixed. I followed my brother over to a relative's house on Christmas Eve and as I followed him and watch his spicy orange MSP move down the road it really gave me a fresh appreciation for the design. It is a very nice little car.
One day when this thing is out of warranty I hope someone does release a tunable ECU but even if they don't I am keeping this car. I'll be like the old guys with the 327 powerd Chevy II's setting in their garages talking about their quirky hopped up little Chevys.

love driving this car...just wish there were more winding roads near me to get the most out of it. So much more fun to drive than the Jetta VR6 I traded in for it.
