So as some of you may know i work at Nasa and i took this pics last time the shuttle was out here....

i got to fallow it down the runway while it was leaving

Pretty cool. Never saw it on the other side of the US. I used to live real close to the cape back home.

My Grandpa was a welder for NASA for a long time. He welded on everything from the shuttle, to the launchpad. Sadly he never taught me to weld. :( I never had an interest in welding till recently.

all shuttle pics welcome and i would love to see it take off all i get to see is it land haha...

and my official title is tool/chemical technician....but i do all kinda of things from working on stuff to parts boy but mainly i check out tools and chemicals....but by company is sending me to school to get my A&P license(airplane mechanic) because they know im wasted talent where i am haha

that is awesome man... the guy i car pool with is the head welder for NASA and he is damn good....dude welding is not too hard until you get into tig welding and once you figure that out you are set

Awesome stuff man.. i love watching the shuttle launch in orlando.... if i may ask how did you get the job.. Im a senior mechanical engineer at ucf and have been thinking about applying to nasa in orlando... Any suggestions for me when applying?.... Any chance you want to help a brother out :)

first of all you have to know someone that is the biggest thing....and i work at the NASA at Edwards AFB so im government...i started out with a lame job (job coaching janitors)and then started meeting people and got this job....and i dont know much info about that nasa but if your a mechanical engineer then you can go where ever you want man...if you lived out here i could get you a job all day everyday cuz its such a high demand job out here...all i can tell you is once you get ur degree go and talk to a human resources people over there and your in

dang, nice pix... i wanna experience to see a take off once in my life...
do they invite the public to watch it or is it closed doors?
and is it really loud when taking off?
 
My pics were from over about a hundred miles away. No sound, but the you can't help to be proud when you watch it.

i dont know about the nasa out there but here if you can get on the base you can see it land...and as for it being loud i sure it is...all day long i get to hear f16,18,22 take off and break the speed of sound and they will still make me jump cuz its sssssooooooooo loud .....once a month they will take plane right behind my building and do 80% throttle ups and that is so loud you cant anything other then that

dude i know what you mean everyday i go home knowing that in some way im helping out the space shuttle and other things(sssh)(thats all i can say or else i would have to kill you) and im proud of it every single day
