Radio wiring

Ok I have decided to pull out the Bose system and replace evrything. Here is my question
Instead of having to run new speaker wire thru the doors(pain in the rear), now I realize that you are not suppose to wire to harness, but couldn't I cut the harness under the seat and splice the pre amp wire to the speaker out wire and accomplish the same thing. Any suggestions. Has anyone put 5x7 in ther front doors or is it impossible? They fit great in the rear just don't want to have to by different speakers for front.

You could run speaker wire from your new head unit to the wiring harness under the front passenger seat. That will get your audio signal into the doors without having to run wire through the door jam.

I think you can fit 5x7 speakers up front also. I can't remember the size of the opening though.
