I've not been able to find any information on the protocol used for the text bus on the Mazda 3 radio. I have an '07 MS3, and am building an mp3 player for it. I would like to put the track info on the stock text display, but I need to know how it works. I've found pinouts listing text data and clock, so I'm guessing it's a fairly simple serial protocol. I should be able to reverse engineer it if I can find something that talks to it.
From reading the forums, it looks like some iPod cables and the stock Sirius unit are the only things that do this. Has anyone reverse engineered this? Failing that, is anyone in SoCal willing to loan me one of the above for a couple of days so I can?
