Mazda Protege5 2002 - I looked through previous threads to find an answer to this weird problem. Either I suck at searching or I'm the only one in the world with this problem.
First I thought my speakers went out because I have no bass, but I could still hear them and there was no crackling. Then my radio started going on and off when it felt like it. Sometimes I would just be riding down the street and it would pop on. Sometimes it wouldn't come on at all and sometimes, if I slammed the correct door, it would pop on or off. Sometimes the door lights stay on and the engine light has been on for two years. My car runs perfectly. I took it AutoZone and three mechanics and they said the engine, etc was fine.
When I asked about the radio, one of them told me my sound card was gone. I don't see how my sound card could be gone if it plays sometimes (I could be wrong though). Now the radio hardly comes on at all. Nothing is wrong with my battery or alternator, trust me.
Has anyone experienced this? Oh, I have the factory radio/cd player in it and have never touched or changed it.
I'm not sure if its loose wires, a fuse, or my car has grown a personality since I talk to it so much (LOL). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Angela
