racing seat thread.

Can someone suggest a single racing seat, non recline, safe, good lumbar support (!), and under $200 with brackets? I don't think there is a seat that cheap.

thanks

This is the seat that I lust for:

Cobra Misano R. It doesn't get any better than that. Unfortunately at $1199, it doesn't get much more expensive, either.

Miata -- MX3 or ??

anyone know if another cars seat will fit ours ?
some of them have good seat that might be an alternative than buying new (cheers)

I've been looking for an Evo 8 seat for quite a while now. With the correct brackets, it will fit, and I need something better than the unsupportive stock seats.

those cobras look pretty cool. i think they would be badass in a highly modified show car but look too extreme for mildly modded 4 doors

Forget that. Look at how much they COST!

Yowsa!

these seem fine quality to me although I havent closely inspected recaros or sparcos or corbeaus or sat in them for that matter...

the pics of the back corner are just me unzipping the bottom back and pulling the covering back a little so you can see the insides to get a feel for what they are like.

these are knockoffs of the corbeau A4 (wide i believe)

slug420, thanks for the awesome pics! Those were the ones that I wanted to try out since they were such a good price and would match my car well. When are you going to install them? I'd like to hear your opinion on comfort, fit, adjustability, sturdiness, and support (especially cornering). Also, what are your height, weight, and build (if you don't mind me asking)? That seems to play a bid roll in comfort between different seats.

hehe.....i got these last december. My company had a 250 dollar healthy living bonus thing (intended for use on health clubs and whatnot) but I finangled them into paying for 250 of my seats. I got them but due to the lack of orange stitching, the fact that you still need to buy brakcets which cost half as much as the seats did, and the fact that they are too small for someone as big as me I never put them in. they sat around for a while and I was going to be making some video game chairs out of them, just putting them on little rockers, but I need the money and JD wants the seats so ill be selling them to him next week.

oh, and im about 6'6 300lbs.. barely fit in the stock seats let alone these :D

hey i remember reading a while back that someone I think on the other forums did a how-to for making custom brackets for mounting aftermarket seats using the stock brackets....anyone know where I could find that?

I just found this if anybody is interested...

Brand NEW Recaro 2000 Design seats for $189 apiece!!! Only 2 left! Go to http://www.speedwaymotors.com and search for Recaro. Only thing is the color may not be for everyone. Call Mike at Speedway if you have any questions. Really nice guy.

This seat was made prior to 1998, was NOT sold in the US (German version), and is the predecessor to the Recaro SE.

On that same note, the Recaro SE will be re-released (black color only) within the next month with an estimated MSRP of $450 apiece. Protege brackets can be purchased from Wedge engineering (http://www.wedgeengineering.net) for $85 apiece. The bracket numbers for our Protege are 2044 (driver) and 2045 (passenger).

Someone buy those two remaining Recaros so I don't have to!!!!

Would you happen to have a pic of the Recaro SE?

slug, be careful, my friend read on another forum on how ebay seats fall apart in accidents, like the brackets and the chair seperate themselves... be careful with purchasing these types of seats!
