Those look nice! Got picks of the outside o the car? Looks really Canadian with the white on red. You should put a big white maple leaf on the hood. Ha. j/k, hockey fan...

Lol, yeah I should get one airbrushed on with all the fine details and stuff!

Just a little more info for those of you still trying to choose a seat...
The Recaros and Koenigs are TUV approved. I'm not sure about the other brands.
Also the Recaro brackets and sliders have been thoroughly crash tested. I wrote to a store in Germany and they said that they only two "good" brands over there are Recaro and Koenig, so that's what I would go with if it were in the budget.
Of course, I'm not looking for the latest seating fad. I'm looking for proven comfort, quality, ergonomics, sportiness, and safety.
My 2 cents worth.

Ohh... I'd like to see that... Pics?

i have one sparco torino black and grey. i repainted my interior peices mercedes silver instead of the off silver that matches my shift knob, gauge rings and tv... looks pretty cool. we added some deadener in the the paint to give it a matt finish even with the protectant of clear coat. its pretty cool.

yeah i'll snap some pictures, i just have to grab some batteries for my digitial camera. hopefully have some up by tonight

lol no i didn't remember to get batteries. but the camera is in my car... if that counts for anything

I just tried submitting an info request for on Koenig's website about their SK5000G seats. I drove an R32 with leather K5000 seats and they are my favorite seats by far. Unfortunately Koenig's website SUCKS and wouldn't even send my request. I don't feel like calling if their site is so half-assed.

Thanks, just sent an email. I am pretty sure that it will be pricey, but at least I will know. I asked about a pair of black SK5000G with all the hardware to install them in a 2003 Protege. Normallt I'd just get the K5000, but I might get into road racing and want the holes for harnesses. I'll let you know what they say.

Hell ya! First thing I thought when I got in the r32 is man if only I could have these seats...

Yes, I sat in the LXFs and they are one of the two seats I'm considering.

Let us know how you like them!

Mark

I got universal rails from Recaro, and im just planning on using the OE floor mounts from my seats. I still have to check if its going to fit. Ill let you know once i get the seats.

Here is what I got back from Koenig on their SK5000G seats:

Hi Mike,
sorry for the trouble you had on the web site.
The SK5000G is $699.00 in cloth (this is a high grade and high quality fabric for automotive application)
for Leatherette add $99.00
for real Leather add $599.00
sorry, suede is not available.
The bracket adapter is $99.00
and the slider if needed is also $99.00
If you purchase a matching pair a 10% discount applies.
The price is good till end of Sept 04. The seats are made to ordering Germany and a 50% deposit is required when ordering.
Shipping is about $50 per seat.
Hope this answers your question and feel free top call if you need additional information

That is MUCH better than I expected, although not cheap. I, personally, would rather have these seats that Recaros. I've sat in both and absolutely love the feel of the Koenig K5000. I figure that it's $1524.40 shipped to my doorstep for 2 seats and brackets.

I was looking at Bride seats cuz they are suppsoed to be good and m4d tyt3 JDM and all(not that I care about that)
I forgot since they are authentic Japanese pieces, they are made for the japanese physique...there is an actual disclaimer on their website that says they are not responsible for damage or injury if they are used by someone over 220lbs...well Im screwed then(lol2)

Spooled:
Did Karl quote you for regular brackets (he used the term "bracket adapter" in your email)? I'm confused as he quoted me $129 for brackets...

My original email asked about "any hardware that is necessary to adapt the seats to a 2003 Protege," so I am assuming that it's just an adaptor to work with the current hardware in the car.
