So for starters, I had a rod escape out the back of my motor in december. When the build was decided I contacted Manley for internals. Manley is less then 10 minutes from my house and has been making some of the nicest quality and high performance engine internals for domestic and import for years. However, the support for the MS3 still lacks in the aftermarket world so anything from manley would be a custom made product. I wanted to keep my buisness local so i put in the order, dropped off my crank, rods, pistons, and valves to have upgraded ones made. (i had to buy a salvage motor due to the damage on mine so thats where the non-damages internals came from)

So the first items given to me are the Valves. Race Flow valve cut but the dimensions are to stock (seat angle, diameter) The valves were made for higher flow and i had a deeper dish cut into the face.

The crank and rods will be done tomorrow i will post pictures of those later next week with pictures of the rest of the parts for my build.

Very nice. I've had a good bit of experience over the years using Manley's high end performance valves on American N/A race prepped cylinder heads. Manley's valves are superb and this race flow design is exquisite.

Question: Just for what it's worth, did you consider sodium filled valves on the exhaust side? I don't even know whether they are available from any source. The benefit besides heat transfer is that they are way lighter. I'd still probably go with those nice race flow valves from Manley, but I'd be thinking about the weight and heat transfer, so I'd at least ponder the issue.

the price differnce being they were a custom order was more then i wanted to spend. thats pretty much why

Understood. Like I said, I don't even know if sodium filled aftermarket exhaust valves are available from anyone. Let us know how your build goes.

wow you lucky dog!
i expect internal failures and can hardly wait for a rebuild. i just recently destroyed driver side cv after getting my tune sorted out.
and of course the k04 has reached its map limits at 21lbs.
may i friend you so i can keep up with your build? i am seriously interested in details.
that is so cool that you have access to the legendary Manley bits and pieces. if i can participate in some way i might be very interested. and certainly, good luck and keep us (me ) posted
