Quite the compliment...

So I was rolling down a section of Route 1 near where I live, on my way to Richmond, when an old guy(no offense to older forum members) in an awesome Corvette Stingray(I don't know much about these cars, besides that this car was an awesome oldie, fully restored) passed me in the left lane only going a little quicker than myself. Suddenly, both the driver and his wife turned in my direction and mouthed to me "very nice car." My jaw sorta dropped, as this compliment was coming from someone driving a car easily ten times nicer than my ride. Regardless, I mouthed a "thank you" back, and gave them an A-OK sign about their car. They both smiled, and moved on while continuing to stare at my car. All I can say is wow, what a compliment. Thanks so much you guys if you ever read this, it made my month.

I agree totally. Well said. Whenever I show my face or car at a car meet or racer gathering, they all think that because I drive an import, I hate all Domestic cars. This is totally not true, as I have respect for a quite a bit of them, just as I hate some imports. I hate stereotypes.:(

yeah, in the summer time, there are a bunch of all-inclusive car shows around here. A true car enthusiast appreciates all cars. I know I love exotics, german cars, japanese, cars and american classics. Hell I'd even like to see a Ford Festiva if it was well executed......... well maybe not that ;)

One of the people who helped me with my car owns a shop near my house. He is a complete muscle car guy. However, when it came down to it, he was the only guy who looked into all my needs. I swear, I called him about 15 times for different problems, and he came through. I let him drive my car when it was all finished (Never Finished), he said it was not as slow as he was expecting (OUCH). The both of us have a better respect for each others type of car. When it comes down to the nitty gritty, we are both after the same thing...the perfect car that we love and drive.

Ditto.:D

Exactly right everybody. That was exactly what I was tryin to prove with this thread. Today there is so much that causes other people to think that "if you trick out an import, you are a ricer who will never understand the true power of a muscle car." That is too wrong. A true car enthusiast appreciates any car for its strengths AND weaknesses. Just my two cents.

lol. I don't know about with another guy.... maybe two girls (naughty) Anyways, very tru about car lovers. I get import hating a lot and I'm just like F*uck you! In fact this one guy in a 3series made a total ass of himself when he made a remark to me in a parking lot.... he got own3d when I told him my absolute favorite car in the world was the M3. He shut up fast :D
