Quickest cars of 2007

GT28R
5mph roll to 70mph
2002 autotragic
Full throttle. Tial wastegate with 3.8939399347974psi spring and no MBC

The tune may be a f'up as it was made for his GT without the new intake.

I had about car length ahead of him.

___
I forgot to post results from the trip...

Mustang GT vs Protege LX-T(8.5 psi)
0-60mph : GT by 1/2 car
0-100mph : LX-T by 1 car
35-100mph : LX-T by 2 cars

wait, so you beat him by a car length at "3.8939399347974" psi from 5-70mph.

but you lose to him 0-60 by 1/2 car length even when u more than double your psi (3.8 to 8.5)? Then you finally beat him from 0-100mph by one car length at 8.5 psi....

makes no sense dude.

Original race: He did not have 4.10's in the rear. They apparently made all the difference in the world.

Most recent stuff:
-he has 4.10's
-neither car had a clean run (he had a better launch from 0-60)
-my car doesn't start catching up to his until the 50mph mark
He definitely still has some top end with the gears but my car pulls a whole lot more above 60mph.

I would've had more of a lead if I had better launches

ok. il stop butchering this thread sorry for the thread jack.

In the real world the Mazdaspeed 6 is the best for the money. I think it is anyway. I see it as a sleeper and semi luxo cruiser. Compared to all these other cars in the test it is the most civilized car. I have 2 kids and it is the most practical think I have had. Not to mention very fast for what it is. There is no way I would ever compare this car to a Mustang, 350Z or Sky? I mean come on. Even the EVO and STi are in a different category to me. It kinda doesn't fit anywhere. It just is what it is. The car that should have been on this list is the RX-8 which I have had and loved. But not as much as the Speed6. it just fits. The only other car I would consider at this point is a 335i or an S4.

But damn it is faster than I have seen anywhere else! 0-60 in 5.4!! I knew it had it in it! It is actually faster in the wet because it gets just a little wheel spin and doesn't bog. It may not launch as hard as an EVO but damn does it feel good!!!

ill put an end to this now...

no your not beating a mustang GT. atleast not if your stock and the driver of the GT knows what hes doing...

94-98 yea i can see it (cobra's would be close)
99-04's would be close (and you can forget about the cobra's)
05+ only if the driver sucks

Uh, I had a 2000 GT and was getting a pounding by the newer 4 doors all the time. The new FI 4.6 was really slow. My GT was 6.3 seconds for 0-60 and the cobra's were around 5.3-5 depending on coupe/convertible (if you got a later model). The numbers are fudged all over the place because of a hp rating scandel from ford.

In any case, they all have cheap/cheesy plastic interior parts, lots of rattles, and mine constantly had engine issues after the first two years (all under warranty). It finally blew itself up when I was pulling out from a gas station (drove the spark plug through the header). That was when I got rid of it.

The traction control was horrid, retarding (fuel cut) both the throttle and abruptly (neck-snapping) stopping any yaw motion. Our car's traction system is incredible compared to my old ford. Totally non-intrusive and lets me get away with a nice controlled slide before gently correcting when the yaw goes too far. I don't think I'll buy another American car after my mustang, and I hate the thought of Ford and Mazda together now. Hopefully they won't screw up Mazda.

I'll agree the newer models are a lot tougher to keep up with, but I think that comes down to the driver. The GT has basically the same 0-60 times as our car. When my car was relatively new (and I had no mods) I had no problems keeping up with a new GT from a rolling start (<10mph). I'm sure that tick'd him off, and I had a passenger to boot. Now a new Cobra, I'm sure I would have probably been spanked... But, he paid more for his rattles and squeaks, and I have four doors for my friends to sit comfortably in.

Our cars are a nice balance of looks, handling, and horsepower. I like the occasional testosterone rush like the next guy, but I don't need my car to have 400 whp to be happy. I would have bought a different car. Some people mod the hell out of it with parts that total 15-40% of the value of the car. Seems like a waste of money unless you're a race driver, but some people like that I guess... (shrug)

we had a STOCK off the show room car at our shop that went 13.7 on street tires. only mod was the driver
we had a STOCK 03 10th ANV cobra run 12.5. which we later got it down to 10.0@134 after a "few" mods.
my 0-60 in my truck is 3.9 (based off of a 8.1@86 1/8 mile time) and that cobra was just as fast out of the hole as my truck. (cant remember what its 1/8 mile time's were). like i said a good drive makes a HUGE difference in those cars.
the 03/04's take some skill to launch. they have a huge wheel hop issue. so if you get the R's up high enough to get a good launch some times youll bring the clutch out to fast and send it into tire spin or wheel hop depending how fast you let out the clutch. if you dont get the R's up you bog then send them into tire spin when you hammer it. the trick is to get the R's up around 4500 and let the clutch out slow enough to get the car moving good but not send it up in smoke.
