Questions concerning Zenon Headlights on MP5

I've never seen them b4, are they just the bulbs that screw inplace of yur normal headlights? or is all the wiring different? Could someone explain it to me? and how much, i tried searching, but nothing interesting to me came up

you might have better luck if you search "HID" or "H.I.D."

and it's not plug and play... it's also very illegal

I live in Montreal and it is illegal.

As for installation, it's quite straight forward, you'll find a How-To in the How-Tos section of the board.

yes, but they are originally *designed* to handle xenon lighting by the manufacturer of the headlight housings

as I said, retrofitting is illegal because normal halogen light housings do not have the capabilities to provide a proper, safe beam pattern for xenon lighting

TheMan is right they are illegal, heance why you see most kits with the disclaimer "For off-road use only". In fact the US supposely recently started banning the outright sell of H.I.D. kits.
Haven't check back with Liteswap to see if this was ever followed through or not.

As far as ticketing going it will vary on your location and how strict the police are. For the most part cops don't really notice it unless they are horribly mis-aimed/bright etc. Some inspecations stations will also fail the car.
However, alot of people have them so if you really want to do the conversion then go ahead. Just realize the risk involved.

Now what are you looking for? Brighter lights or fancy colors? You can easily get some replacement bulbs that will greatly increase the lighting range, or change the color. Just be careful as some color ranges will actually decrease the visable light range.
