Hi Guys,
I've been doing some research lately on my Mazda 2 1.3 mzr ZJ-VE (2010), i have found that from 2007+ there are 2 manual transmission options in the 1.3 category one with 86hp the other with 75hp. I cannot find the difference in engines with these two options but im almost sure its to do with the ECU? Now what confuses me is that the ZJ-VE engines have been manufactured since 2003 and they came out with a healthy 91hp. My question is what is so different between these motors that makes the power vary so much?
I was looking to buy an older ZJ-VE to supercharge and swap into my 2 seeing as the engines from a visual aspect look identical and like this i could start the project and still drive my car and when all is figured out start the swap. But this led to all sorts of questions. My original plan was to supercharge my existing motor and look into getting remote tuning from Dynotronics. But if i do this swap i am not sure if dynotronics can help me?
- Is the power differences from the different models all to do with ECU tuning or is there mechanical differences ?
- Would the older ZJ-VE be a direct fit from DY models to DW models?
-Could i Plug the older ZJ-VE ECU into my 2010 Mazda 2 or are they not a direct fit?
Some Questions may be stupid to some but i have really tried to look for the answers and i come here for wiser people to help me out
Thanks
KROW
