i know a little about car audio, but im leaving this one for the pros:

i want to have in-dash morotized video/cd/am/fm/dvd/playstation 2 capabilities in my mazdaspeed protege. i have all of the above except ps2, dvd and video with the stock unit. however, im thinking that the most inexpensive and do-able option is to add just a in-dash video monitor and the ps2(as that has the dvd capabilities. so my questions are as follows,

1- can i do this? i mean will the ps2 hook up to the stock head unit and a video screen ( visual to the monitor and audio to the head unit)

and 2- is there just a monitor ou there that is worth a damn?

thanks for helping a rookie out.

1) yes. what you;d do is send the video signal to the monitor and the audio signal to the HU through an optional Aux input that you can buy for the Kenwood. (it's available at crutchfield!)

2) There are plenty of flip out monitors worth a damn...it just depends on how much you're willing to spend, and what brands you are interested in. Alpine makes the TME-M790. Pioneer makes the AVH-P6400CD, which is actually a headunit...so that's probably overkill. Eclipse makes the AV8012, which is kinda not a full head-unit, but not just a monitor. Other people just get by with brands like Lilliput and other stuff that's out there. It's entirely up to you and your budget.
