They are good...I don't know how his fell apart...but mine is holding up quite nicely......92k miles and not a single problem....but as far as where you might be able to get one...not sure.....maybe the 6 spd diagram can come out and a 5 spd one can go in its place...not sure though so don't quote me on that.......

that would be really cool! i love the look of them, im not a fan of my stock shift knob :(

what does the diagram look like it? can it be tooken out? or is it engraved?

I believe it's a glued-in plastic piece. One could probably pry it out with some heat, a small screw driver, and patience. As for replacing it... who knows.

You could just paint over the 6-spd pattern.

i thought about painting, but the reverse is different to aint it?

is the 6spd pattern in-dented into the knob, or is it sticking outward, to where if you pry it off it will become a blank knob, or will there be an indent?

There will be pocketing, yes, but I do not believe the pattern itself is engraved, just a recess for a plastic disc.

could remove the plastic piece, paint that black and BAM! how u think that would look?

thats what i meant, take the plastic piece off, then paint that plastic piece and then put it back on! (that way theres no indent)

I gotcha. Might just be easier to paint over the outside surface without removing it, though possibly less durable.

You could do a skim coat of bondo over the pattern. But honestly a few coats of paint will probably fill it in okay.

Only bad part of the stock knob is the metal ring around the pattern (the silver ring) scratches really easily.
