96 Miata M-Edition, 2015 Mazda 3 Hatch
I just sold my 6, and already need my zoom zoom fix. I haven't driven a mazda for almost two weeks now. I originally intended to wait until march to buy my miata, but alas, I underestimated the power of zoom.

Anydiddley, I came across a lovely 99 10AE in CT (it even has a matching hardtop). Everything about the car is great except for the trunklid. It has one of those old school luggage racks on it. (Who the eff actually USES that?)

Naturally, I want it to be ripped off should I purchase said vehicle. Any ideas on how much that may cost or if it is worth it to buy a new trunklid and repaint?

Sean! what are you doing this weekend? if there's no snow we can go cruising again. I'll let you drive, if you help me figure out why my home PC won't let me play CIV 4.
as for the trunk,
If you need it, I have the name/card of a shop in Vernon that I checked out one day while I was getting my car serviced. they had a bunch of nice looking cars out front; lowered civic white w/white rims, Focus SVT w/lip on 18"s, red evo with bronze rims that was driving around, and they were doing some work on an STI in the shop. I'm going to go talk to them in the spring about repainting my front bumper.

(mswerd)

I'm not doing anything this weekend at all.

PS, I need help drinking beer. I have a lot of it. You game?

Now is the perfect time to buy a Miata. Convertible prices tend to go up as spring approaches.

As far as the trunklid goes, it may be more cost effective to replace it as opposed to patching and a re-spray. I know Flyin' Miata recently parted out a 10AE that, IIRC, was smashed in the front.

I'd find a trunk lid for it. Luggage rack...what the hell is wrong with people!?

You could possibly find a trunk lid for $200 and have it painted to match.

I'd imagine that decklid could be flushed out and repainted for less than $250.

well just got back from checking it out.. the poor thing was beat to hell, and that dealer must have one hell of a photographer.

The poor girl had orange peel everywhere, and evidence of a major front end wreck. The rear bumper was scraped up and had a lot of spidering, and the front lip was shattered..

The search goes on.

There are two 10AEs for sale on Autotrader.com right now. One is Chicago and one in Dallas. Both want around $14k. That's hard to swallow when a BRAND NEW 2006 can be bought for $17.5K around here.

Yeah I've seen both of them on autotrader.

I'm probably going to end up buying a miata (not a 10AE specifically) when I'm down in florida in march. If I find something spectacular up here in New England I'll bite, but I'm patient.
