question about Thule luggage racks

I am looking at a Thule luggage rack on Craigslist that's a 6-7 years old but in good shape still. He's asking $100 for it. He says that as long as I have the right fit kit, any Thule rack will fit my car. I have a Mazda5 fit kit coming in the mail already but I don't wanna buy this rack only to find out that it doesn't fit my car once the fit kit comes in. Can someone tell me if this guy is right or not? Also, is a 6-7 year old Thule rack worth $100?

when you say fit kit, what did you order? the towers? and what does the craigslist rack come with? the 5 has factory mounts for racks that are definatley the way to go. i wouldnt use the type that sit on the roof and clip at the windows.
