For the guys that have the kartboy shifter, bushing combo? How does it feel to you? I installed mine and it feels good, alittle stiff unlike the stock setup. Anyone else's like that? Also I have a vibration-it sounds like the cat sheild is vibrating when it is in 1st gear. It never did this b4. Nothing grinds or anything just that vibration. I am gonna go over the whole thing tomorrow and make sure everything is in order. Anyone else have this problem??and if so what was the fix?? I am just wondering since so may guys on here have that shifter.
Thanks,
Pete

The shifter was tight at first, but it loosened up a little over time. Its smooth as heck now. Nice and smooth.

And did you remember to bend down the front edge of the heat shield when you put in the shifter? The Kartboy shifter hangs down lower than the stock one did, so the front edge of the heat shield needs to be bent down or lowered somehow. That should fix your first gear problem.

Nope I didnt do that. I would assume thats why it is vibrating. Anyone else have a suggestion?? I am gonna go and fix it right now. And the other thing I dont like is that kartboy didnt give any "special intructions" with there product. Someone who doesnt have the use of this forum is screwed.
Thanks,
Pete

That I know. I emailed him when it all came in the mail. And he emailed me back with the link to this site, and the link to his site for the bushing install. Pete

I didnt have any such problems with the heat sheild myself. Maybe because I installed the SS on a 2000 ES and not a MP3. I wouldnt imagine that they would be that different. To me it just sounds like your heat shield is loose.
As for the kit itself. I love it. It was stiffer than stock but it is loosening up now.

You could also put some thick washers inbetween the bolts
where the front of the heat sheild bolt on to. I just bent mine and
have not problems what so ever. And StuttersC is right, after
about 2-3 weeks of use ( or less depending on how hard you
shift) and its smooth shifting after that. Also I switched to their
knuckle knob and now i'm even shifting better than before. But
thats prolly just me. Don't know if anyone else feels that way.
Hope you like your SS.
