putting mazda speed exhaust on MZ3 sedan = $$$

hello everybody. I just got a MS3 catback exhaust and want to put it on my sedan. How much should I expect to pay with welding and all that?

I went to Midas today and they told me it would be 190 to just put it on (he said it would be at least 2 hours of labor, charging 85 per hour for labor)

If I wanted to cut out the resonators and replace with stainless steel piping, it would be over 300 (forgot the exact number)

is this correct? is it really this expensive?

how much did you guys pay for your MS3 exhaust to be installed?

also will a CEL be tirggered if I cut out the resonators?

I actually picked up my ms3 exhaust for my sedan this morning, and got it installed and the tip extended for 1 hour's work or $85.

Just go to an independent muffler shop. $300 is ridiculous.
Also I had one of the resonators removed from my stock sedan exhaust, and didn't throw a cel.

I ended up getting the speed exhaust installed, extended, and one resonator cut out and replaced with SS piping for 200. I'm not in the mood to drive all over the place to have this done. you thinking cutting both resonators out would be bad/throw a CEL?

Resonators are for sound, and have nothing to do with how the engine runs.

dam 200 is really expensive, you really didnt need SS piping since the stock exhaust is mild steel isnt it?
oh well but yea resonators have nothing to do with emissions so no CEL

also I (and the shop workers) were surprised while at the shop to notice that there is a third o2 sensor attached to the 2nd cat? how do people get rid of the 2nd cat without throwing a CEL?

and the stock exhaust is SS, to my knowledge...I may be wrong. I just payed the 200. I was not in the mood to drive all over to get this done. I am very busy with work and school, and if it is not now, it is never. ha...you all must understand...

anyways, I was surprised with the sound difference on my 20 minute ride home. my car sounded like another car passing me while I was accelerating. it was so unexpected and a pleasant surprise!

does anyone have a speed3 exhaust with both resos cut out? I am thinking I want both out. will it be too loud/droning? will it hinder any performance?
