Just curious - I know in other automotive sectors, a low temp thermostat is popular to keep the head and block temps down to fight detonation a little and make a little more power by keeping the charge a bit cooler before compression.

Does this hold true on out little turbo motors?? If so, what do you guys recommend? temp, brand, etc.?

I recommend keep it stock at 180. The T-stat trick works better on cars which do not come equipped with low temp unit to start with. Your best bet with these cars against detonation and air charge cooling issues is to upgrade the IC, decarbon the engine often, use good fuel, use good plugs, and employ some type of ems for peace of mind if you've stepped up the boost quite a bit.

does it fit?

is that low tem thermostat firect fit also for all the other proteges??? 1.6 1.8 and 2.0????
