Purge Solenoid Valve chatter

I just got my turbo up and running and it's great but the only problem
I have so far is the purge solenoind valve for some reason starts to chatter and then stop for a bit and starts again. I but the mazda check valve in and yes it's the rightway, I checked for leaks and found none. I search the forum but didn't find anything, so anybody have any ideas.

It works by opening / closing really fast so the chatter is normal, but you shouldn't be able to hear it. Maybe the solenoid is just old?

So that's a normal sound, as for old I've got a 2001 ES GT so it not that old
but maybe I'll see about getting a new one. Thanks for the help(cheers)

ya, that sound is normal(sort of). it is the purge solenoid valve. they seem to make a bit of noise when they get older.
mine was make a bit of a noise a few months ago then completely disappeared. i wouldn't be to worried about it.

off topic: you should bring your protege out to the greisbach parade square on the 23rd for some autox fun. check out mrheavyfoot.com if your interested. we need more protege's out there since i'm usually the only one.

Mine chattered a bit, i coould hear it on idle but it wasnt that bad. Check the vacuums are in place.

I know this was an old post, but is there a way to temporarily disable this solenoid for a quick test to see if this is the root of the noise that I am hearing? If so can i just disconnect the electrical.
