purchasing a P5 in Pittsburgh, PA

a Newbie Here......

i was almost lured into buying a volkswagen due to their swanky ads and sweet looking cars....but sites such as vwvortex.com and myvwlemon.com have shown me the light of day, and my idea of a fun car involves not only modding it, but being able to drive it (rather than taking it to the shop every week for all sorts of crap breaking).


So after looking around and reading a lot of your posts. (And i've definitely been reading all the posts about adding a turbo to the P5...that would kick serious stuff) i think the P5 is the car i've been looking for. My questions for now are as follows:

Can anyone recommend any Mazda dealers in Pittsburgh?i've only been to one dealer (Billco) and they seemed too busy to want to sell me a car. Also, does anyone here with a moonroof have the wind deflector?Does it make that much of a difference?
And if ya'll wanna offer up what you paid for your P5 that would be appreciated.

I suggest Don Allen in Bloomfield for your purchase of the Protege5. I had no problems when I went there and they were helpful.

Welcome to the board MouseOfMars...almost went to the dark side eh?...lol...Go P5...you won't regret it!

I've heard rumors that some owners are having major problems with their late-model vw's...how true is this...is their some underlying fault about these cars? Did they cut cost on the mechanical parts? I wonder...

To answer your question about the moon roof deflector it seems to block most of the air front hitting your head..I had a Jetta without one & I'd say more air came inside.

As Krotine requested I can tell ya what I know.

I purchased from Smail Mazda near Greensburg. Couldn't have been happier. I used autobytel and that is where I was assigned. I then dealt with their internet sales manager, Jim Minnich. 2 emails and a phone call and the deal was done. Drove down to pick up the car and all went well. They didn't try to add on other charges or anything once I was there. It was the exact car I was told and the exact price and fees as I was told. They knew I was an hour's drive away, so I was worried they might try to make a switch and I would live with it since I'd driven so far. But that was not the case, all was great.
