Purchased TV....was it a good buy?

I'm trying to talk myself out of buying one til they drop in price a bit more. But the 360 is making me really reconsider it.

Plasma and LCD screens will drop 15-20% by next christmas.

Recent developments and factory cronstructions will allow the 2 technologies to directly compete while produce the screens much less expensivly.

HD ready isn't a bad thing, EDTV is.
I would never have bought an insignia anything. Not to mention the only thing I would ever buy from Best Buy is a CD. Even then I feel dirty. I don't like buy cheap just to get something when I have to sacrifice perfomance and reliability to do it.

really? what's the difference between the new ones and old ones? i don't know much about it, but i figure as long as i don't pause my xbox for a whole day i'm in the clear..right?

There are a ton of diverences. Its like any other technology, although the basic idea is the same advances in production, programming, materials, and everything else advance. Simply put, it is HARD to burn a plasma today. Even old ones would not burn from a game on pause unless you left it on pause for 2 days. The problems with burning were most seen in buisness that watched only one or 2 channels and the channels logos burned in. Also plasmas don't ever need rechargining (never did) and they will stay brighter longer then there CRT counter parts now. Basicly, there is nothing to worry about with Plasma any longer. Oviously cheaper screens by off brands are not as up to date and cut corners where ever possible to hit a price point.

its a great tv, that brand is a best buy only brand , thats why u dont see them advertised to much, buy they are a great company, i just bought a surround sound system frm that company.. i get Major discounts on this brand.. just curious what it costed you? and good job gettin the PSP plan.. i cant stress enough how valuable it is..

Well, for one thing you don't even have a plasma - you have a LCD. But yeah, your LCD will never burn in -- so leave that sucker paused for weeks on end if you want. A plasma CAN burn in but only in rather unreasonable usage situations. Plasmas are good...so are LCDs. The plasmas burn more power and radiate more heat than your LCD, so that's 1 draw-back to a plasma.
