PS2 or X-box

I might be gettin an xbox. The only games I mainly wanted to play for ps2 was gt4, DBZ budokai 3 and MGS3. Halo2 or halo I am not to crazy about. Never was, just like I was never crazy about goldeneye when it first came out. I've played all the game systems, just not on a regular basis or enough to compare the 2. I'll get xbox, and who knows, I might by a used ps2 from a friend for like 50 bucks or some "goods" they might need.

the new slim ps2 is not capable of having the harddive and i think no internet as well but i could be wrong about the inernet....but pretty much its way to slim...if i were to get a ps2 id get that because the system isnt wider or longer then a dvd box and it isnt too much thicker then one...i beleive a cntroller is around the width measurements and height is nothing...its timy a friend of mine has it...but i really have no need to buy one for just 3 games so im not going to im stickin with the x-box haha but just more info for you

modded xbox,
as Micah said, playing media and emulation has kept me happy for a couple years now

To keep myself from having to make this decision, I bought both. All together, we have the Gamecube, XBox and PS2. We're buying our son the new Gameboy SP for Xmas. Each one of the systems have games that came soley for their particular system and it was hard to chose which ones. For example, I liked Kingdom Hearts and other RPG's for the PS2 when they first came out. Then I bought the XBox mainly for Halo.. that box hit the shitter earlier this year, so my brother bought me another one when they went down in price this summer. I originally bought it when it was a few hundred dollars, which hurt the pocketbook. At least they're alot more reasonable now and easier for everyone to be able to enjoy. I find the graphics to be good on both systems, (although I could never really get ahold of the contols for the Gamecube for Pikman or Zelda so I cant tell you anything there). I cant say that one is actually better than the other because I sincerely think that it depends on the game and not entirely on the system. I think some of the best graphics come from Tom Clancy, Squaresoft, EA, Bungi and a few others. You'll notice the difference in quality between this companies and others when you play the games.

lara, what happened to the xbox? hard drive failure? that was another reason why I mod'd mine. If my HD dies, I have it backed up. Just pop another in, and I'm good to go. Technically, I took the original HD out anyways.

i asked for a xbox from the old lady, because of the memory. i had problems with ps and ps2 memory cards in the past.... she says im not getting that cause either would be cutting into " amanda time"

xbox all the way, games are more attractive, faster loadtimes, store saves on the system as well as burn music onto the hard drive and most games have the option of playing your own music so you don't have to listen to the gay ass music on the game. now they have small controllers, i have one thats even smaller than ps2 controller. xbox live really kicks ass. the only thing ps2 has is gt4. thats it...gta:SA will come out soon enough for xbox and when forza motorsports comes out it is supposed to be just as nice as gt4, but better graphics and realistics. xbox had me at hello

my wife hates games, but she gets to do fun things while i play like clean and cook. j/k...ok maybe not, but its her chioce, she can watch me or go do something else for a short period of time while i try to relax. which brings me to my next point... work sucks...buy an xbox!

after giving it some more thought I still dont know which I want. I cant really buy both because I am kinda saving up to be poor. The thought of GT4 and DBZ budokai 3 and MGS3 is just too much of a pull to ps2. I've played both systems a few times so from what I can tell the graphics aren't that much better on xbox. s***, if they made these good games for my PS1 I would still be playing that. And as for load time a modded ps2 can fix that.

What you need is a longer leash. See, I'm weird because I like cars, was raised in a family that raced them, went to one of the first Nintendo Championships when I was 13 or 14, I joined the Marines when I could have been in the Air Force, etc. I'm an odd girl. But being raised around mostly men and having them as alot of friends helped me to learn certain things about them.:

You need tools, a car you can be happy with (for about 2 years before you trade it in for something "better"), porn... porn... porn, lots of DVD's and video games (usually action movies and first person shooters or racing type), time with "the boys", the ability to get up and go on "errands" or "do things" and not come back for hours even though you did nothing really productive, peace and quiet when you're on the computer web surfing (or on this forum), things to tinker with (usually something electronic that you can break later), etc.

But a lot of women dont understand that. They want you to pay them attention 24/7. I think at the beginning of every relationship you need to set boundaries. YOUR problem is that when you first started dating, you didnt look her straight in the eye and say "Want to play gran turismo??? No? THEN GO AWAY AND LET ME PLAY MY GAME FOR THE LOVE OF G*D!!!" lol

Called their "customer support" at Microsoft. It gave an error code when you started it up and it said to call them with the code. I did and they said it was a fried hard drive. They said oh well, so sorry, it was past the 2 year warranty mark, if you send us the XBox, we'll replace it for you for $150. I said $150!!! I'll just buy a new one. Soooooo......months later, my brother buys me a new one.

Dang, I hope my Xbox lasts for more than two years. I know the earlier models had reliability issues. Mine is less than two months old, so hopefully they've cured the problems. My PS2 has been glitch-free for a few years.

This reminds me, speaking of reliability, of the extended warranty available from Microsoft. They charge about $40 for a two year all inclusive warranty/service plan. The dumb thing is that they will try to fix it rather than replace it (read: down time). I bought a plan for mine from Best Buy for $20 which is a full replacement warranty. If anything stops working on it, they'll replace the entire unit. No questions asked.

big difference in graphics on racing games, GT is the only game i've seen for ps that has good visuals. burnout, project gothem racing, midnight club, nfs underground; all got ***** by the xbox versions. but it is really person to person, just my opinion

and you cant link 4 ps2s together for a 16 person halo deathmatch like you can with xbox

my modded xbox is a v1.0, so after having it for a while, i had to replace the power supply. so far, my thompson drive is holding up. it doesn't read all kinds of media, but i could care less - ftp pwns. can't say i know about the hdd workin, though - it's collecting dust in my room somewhere ...

k, if i get an xbox which should i get. what i meen is there was a thread floating around on 3 kinds of dvd players in the xbox and which was better. which one is better and how do i tell which one the xbox has?

I have Xbox, PSTwo, GameCube and Dreamcast. The GameCube and Dreamcast are back in the boxes they came in. Xbox is use for mostly Sports game because the graphics look a lot better. The PSTwo is for games that are exclusively on PSTwo GTA:SA, Gran Turismo 4 (when it's released), Metal Gear 3.

If I were in your shoes, I would go with the Xbox. (2thumbs)

You just summed up my entire life.

I feel humbled.

i think the retail xboxes (like the ones you go out and get at best buy) come with the samsung (or that other one i can't remember). the thompson isn't necessarily bad, but it's a picky drive. it won't always read burned media (like cd-r with mp3's, or if you have dashboard updates for modded boxes).

hit up www.xbox-scene.com . the tutorials and forums are good for anything xbox related.

Dude get out to the closest BestBuy on LI and get the Xbox there. Can't go wrong with two free games (Top Spin, EA NCAA Football 2005) and two months free of Xbox Live.
