ProtegeGarage.com Intake Manifold installed!

I drove the car today again and the cold start issue is less and less noticeble. Maybe because its warm out side,I guess we will see when winter comes around. Overall I am very satisfied with the mani, and I hope to dyno the car soon and see some nice numbers.

why??

why on one car it'll be steady, and on another it isn't.

There were program differences between the different model years, plus the mp3 naturally does not have a set of butterflies the newer ones do

i thought only narrowbands osciliate. its one of the reasons people buy widebands, for the wider volt range and the non-oscilliation. correct me if i'm wrong

i was actually talking about the ECU code/program differences between the 01 proteges and more modern ones. the mp3 does not have as many sets of butterflies in the stock manifold as newer cars do and the ecu will be programmed to reflect that. this may be the difference you and i are seeing in idle a/f versus say dana.

as for widebands oscillating, the narrowband a/f gauges i have used sweep back and forth like a light show which is normal for those. if the wideband you have is doing that, going lean to rich, left to right, etc, your car is probably running very poorly to say the least.

what kind if any EMS do you have and how is it wired in?

for ken

some of the pictures i had discussed w/ you. First is the pipe the correct one? It has female to female connections. I found a piece to connect b/w both, it is a 5/8 - 1/2. but should it be off the egr pipe w/ male connection. call me or pm me asap so i can get the right part / piece.

Thanks

Eric

uhhh it's NOT "female to female"... WTF did you do to the threaded piece on the exhaust side? if you ****** it up, go buy a new one from the dealer... part number is FSJ2-13-452

eric, i can get you that piece or like edwin says you can order from mazda. that might get it to you faster. i understand now what you were saying about stripping or breaking that one piece when removing the old pipe. let me know what you would like to do.
