Why are they still like 300 bucks for a intake for a 13 year old car ? I want a cold air intake but the price is crazy... any suggestions ?

Best bet is to find one used since you have to deal with smog. Or just put the stock airbox on every two years.

Cool info but i dont think its smog legal in ca.
There you go. there's your answer. You are paying $300 for an intake for a 10 yr old car because you aren't paying for the intake itself, you are paying for the little plaque that says CARB legal on it. Either you pay the $300 for the $75 intake with the $225 CARB approval plaque on it or do what people have suggested here.............put whatever you want on it until smog check time and then put the oem back on to pass.
