i'll try to put together a list tonight. I have tons links though, so it might take some time.

Sweet thank you! All I need is the links, I will do all the rest from there.

Update:

Database under way!
I hope to have a beta running by the end of this weekend. I will keep you all informed. Thank you.

Update:

Still compiling the database. Any one have some links they would like included?

how can you not have **********.com? one of the biggest vendors besides ken here. rockblocker.com too and bluebatmobile.com as well. oh and corksport.com and **************************.com (also one of the best) and perrinperformance.com
man where else have i ordered from...............................you dont have kartboy.com either? man i love my kartboy short shifter. and hey that mazdaformance link doesn't work. never heard of that site. ill prolly post up here again in a minute with like 20 more links

^^^there ya go...I didn't even know we had something like that on this site. GGKAuten, I'm sorry I haven't sent you my link yet. I'm at school right now, and last week was freakin crazy...hopefully I'll have some time this week. I'm sure you have plenty of sites already though. And that list MP3Architect put up, outlines the really good vendors for our cars.

Again, this database will be sweet to have...thanks for putting it together!

<b>Update:</b>

Here is a rough idea of what the database will look like.

The first file was created in Microsoft Access 2000 Professional Service Pack 3. The second file is a converted database file to older versions of Microsoft Access. If you have a program other than Access that is capable of viewing "*.mdb" files I think it should be able to convert this to applicable means.

I have also added a couple different forms and queries such that the Database can stand alone for offline access. I have not yet gotten it up to a point where you can filter results yet in Access. If anyone has more knowledge on how to do that please get with me and we can work something out for that. Thank you and enjoy.

Again this is just a <b>rough draft</b>. There are only 80 entries so far from <b>SIX</b> of my links.

I hate having a Windows ME equipped PC! No Access on here.

Hahaha Windows ME. Microsoft's attempt at a more graphical Windows 98 & NT bastardization! Ahhh thank god they finally got it right with Windows 2000 Professional and 2003 Server Professional.

Anyone have some suggestions after viewing the database files? Maybe something pertaining to the layout?

Bump!

Looks pretty good so far, have you added anything more? Do you need more links to suppliers, etc?

I would suggest using a grid control of some sort - standard MS Access record navigation is terrible.
And use drop-downs to quickly filter the list based on (eg) category, subcatgeory, manufacturer etc.

Edit: Oh, I see you said you don't know how to do that. I'll see if I can knock something up quickly.

Edit: What? Access doesn't have a built-in grid control? Lame.

That was exactly my problem. The only way I could get a grid control would be to use Visual Basic and their grid control has very little code backend properties such that the grid looks very crappy. Maybe I can work something out with Visual Studio Express...that is basically like Visual Basic 8 but it runs off a completely different set of ASP.Net variables so it will take some time. I am also working 40 hours a week with 18 hours of school so my time if VERY limited right now. I will let you guys know when I get further along.

I think this idea is great for everyone, but I cannot view MS Access files on my Macintosh. Maybe there is a way to use Acrobat for this project.

another reason why I volunteered to convert it to a web interface!

Windows blows ass :)

I agree with you on that one. I wanted to convert it to an ASP.Net project so I could utilize database features, and at the same time have a higher level of GUI for users. The only problem is I have no way to host a Server page. I will let you guys know more when I figure something out.
