Protege 5 mods

Thanks to everyone for you assistance, I am a bit car-tarded as I like to call it. So I may ask questions to eliminate my ignorance.

When do the mods on your car cause for you to no longer pass emissions?

I'd imagine anything that makes you throw a CEL would do that...

yes, definately.
unless you get a CEL fix for that, which they are available. plenty of people running catless, Luke for example. and you can always put the pipe back on come inspection time.

the HPs are the struts that comne on the Mazdaspeeds, they are good, not the best but for what your reasons look to be they will be just right. If you autox or raced at all I would suggest the Illuminas.

Thanks Velocifero, that helps alot.

I have been reading in the MP5 section that people are installing up/down pulleys to increase their low end power. Has anyone done this?

Not me, but I believe pulley changes are related to other changes you make with the car, with other modifications you will see better results then just pulleys alone. And the more you increase modifications the more benifical the pulleys becaome rationally.

Thats not true Wayne, well partially not true, he said "deep like a STi" not "like a STi", there is a difference. And speaking of that, when Kevin Hewitt had the MP3 with the MAM turbo kit just at open DP it sounded "deep like a STi" and Korey and I belive his car will sound pretty close to stompy's when he puts the open DP on his. But you are correct that it will never sound "like an STi" different cylinder alignment, compression, and unequal length header. So Grey if you want to get it to that then you are gonna have to go turbo and into deeper pockets. Doing a NA build will get you a totally different sound.

My step fathers old 1988 Toyota Supra single turbo....nuff said. ;)

If you need help installin the front sway bar, I've done mine and know how to do it. Korey's a good help, too.
