Problem conerning intake and hiboost intake pipes, very urgent please!!!!!

Well I need to take off my injen intake and some other things because I got a ticket and I have the hiboost intercooler kit on there, so I need to verify that the stock airbox won't fit on with the hiboost kit. Can it or do i have to take off all the charge pipes to fit the stock airbox back on?

I think your stock intake piping could be made to work. It's plastic so you have some flexibility. I don't have the kit so I don't know for sure. What did you get a ticket for?

well i live in california, so all mods have to have carb eo numbers and the injen intake hasnt been carb approved yet and my greddy type s is obviously not approved so i gotta take those things off. my ticket is a fix it ticket for all my mods basically.

Do they just drive around looking for cars with mods, pull them over and tell them to pop the hood? What started it all?

thats a big load of crap man,

cant you get the car emission tested and give it to them to shut them up? there is no way that a CAI and and IC is going to effect the emissions much

ive lived in cali for like 2 months or more now, and ive blazed by cops (doing the speed limit, but still its obvious i have ZERO emissions control parts) and nothing. ive even been pulled over and let off with a warning (i was messing with the tune and honestly didnt even realize i was doing 15 over so i know th e cop hear it then) and never had anything said. plus i have to pass the cops EVERY morning and evening coming on and off post...

As a Cali forum member and one of the guys who pulls you over - Here is the way to save yourself.... The Injen does not provide for your air sensor, buy yourself a cheap ebay short air intake that will allow your to use your lil black air sensor - which will make you legal..... and as for the BOV it is not legal to have your system release unfiltered air out into the open. take it off .....

Get the citation signed off and then put your mods back on..... but be advised the first section that you were cited for aka the injen w/o air sensor is not just a fix it ticket, it is an automatic ($800 +) fine by the state for a deliberate emissions violation. Hopefully you didnt get the cite by the CHP. because they will have defin. cited you under the section that will cost you the state fine....... good luck......

The stock air box will not fit, but the pipe with a cone filter will fit perfectly. It's the box that is too big, not the pipe. I ran it with way for 2 weeks while waiting for the Perrin SRI to come in.

I saw pictures on here of someone who got the stock airbox to fit, but I can't see how it can be done without bending something.

with just a cone on stock plastic pipe, or a cone attached to the little elbow on stock plastic pipe u will loose approx 11 whp.

^^ This is true of a stock car, but with the FMIC on, I didn't feel a noticable difference.

Plus he's only looking for something to help him pass inspection, not a long term mod.

Basically, I'm gonna take off the bov and plug the whole up and take the injen off. If the stock airbox dont fit, then Ill have to take all the charge pipes off. I failed emissions test. Will it pass if I have my boost controller off and stock airbox on??? Or will the repair stations have to do more work to the car to make it pass???

why not take a big filter and put it over the bov.. its filtered air now.. lol .. just a thought..

Get an address in Nevada or Oregon and register your car there. With out of state plates they can't **** with you.

If you failed cause of the BOV, just recirculate it for the test. You only need some heater hose and hose clamps. Then no air will be getting to the atmosphere. I really don't see how this would effect your emmisions though.

Also remember you will fail if you disconnect the battery to soon before the test. YOu need to put like 150miles on it after reconnecting or the ecu says it doesn't have enough time to tune correctly and you fail (happened to me).
