Prior to P5s, what did you drive?

1986 Pontiac Fiero GT (v6 atx) No mods
2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue (v6 atx) No Mods
1995 Ford Probe GT (v6 turbo atx) topped out at 278whp
2000 Mercury Cougar (v6 turbo mtx) topped out at 456whp on a 3L motor

I'll share mine:
92 Camry: Loved this car, slow and ugly. Trade in for Civic
99 Civic EX auto: Loved this car too. It was slow and small. Bank took it back
98 Prelude auto: Heavy ass. Bank took it back
98 Forester: Oil pump maintenance mistake after only having it for 4 months used. Died
98 Caravan: Had loads of room, but sucked on gas. Tranny died
98 Audi A4: What can I say, cost a lot to repair parts at this age (the car, not me). Still have it
04 STI: Fast, bumpy, fast, heavy, fast, bigger than it looks, fast, Attracts unwanted attention, fast, sucks on gas, expensive to maintain, and did I mention fast? Bank took it back.

Out of all these cars, I love the slow ones best, the Civic and Protege5! Don't care much about speed as long as it can haul (P5) and handle well.

you got 3 cars repoed.....hows your credit?

Those GM 3800 series V6 are nothing to sneeze at. They'll last forever and a day, and make some power to boot. The 3.4 DOHC in my Lumina was pretty quick. It just had a really weird timing belt setup and that 4T60E transmission was a total POS. I always loved the way the body looked on those Z34's though. That body and comfy interior on top of a v8 frame of some sort would be badass

Yup, the 3800 is the best production V6 engine GM ever made. They were SUPER easy to work on and mod, as someone who had no real experience working on a car, I was able to pull the entire top end off, swap all the gaskets and put it all back together with no problems at all. But the transmission was the weak link, couldn't handle any extra power, which was a shame. With better hard parts it was a little more capable... The Impala SS with the SC 3800 would have been a truly great car if it was MT and RWD.

Hahaha. It's fine now. That was right before the housing bust. Wife got new job, got pregnant, got let go. No work for a year. Either lose the house or lose the cars. We decided to lose that cars and buy used and then short sale the house.
Very bad times I tell ya. Now I have 2 cars (P5 and A4) and no car payments and very low insurance! :)

Dang dude. How the hell do you keep managing to get cars on that terrible credit? 3 repos, im surprised they lend you a dime.

We bought the Civic 1st, then Prelude, then STI.
Civic and Prelude were on same loan. STI was on it's own loan. So when we bought them, I had great credit. But things turned sour all at the wrong time.
Previous post explains it all.

i had a 1974 mercury metor.....a production merc only for the canadian market, funny thing about it though, was that it had a 351ci Cleavland engine in it, which were manufactured in the u.s.a. great car, a little piggy on gas, but damn did the girls love it.

....somethinng about being 22ft long and seating eleven on two really really comfy bench seats lols

....and i sold that, (kinda wish i didn't know) and now i have my 03 stary blue p5 =)

why the hell would you downgrade from that to an p5?!? (boom07)

Man, everybody says that!
Well, mostly money, it was paid off, it wasn't my daily driver until money got tight, it was so expensive to maintain, and to modify, everytime i took it to the track i was afraid something else would break or i'd start hearing a NEW noise from the diff./ clutch/ tranny, my girl and i have a 1 yr. old, and to top it off, i totalled the car. so at this point in my life...having a cheap, good-looking 4 door is best for me right now. but don't worry, when i catch-up on my bad-economy money situation....i'll have another project/ fast car! i miss the evo!
