premacy = ford I-Max

Hello,
I asked this question on a different forum, but does anyone have any more info on this car being built in taiwan. I am particularly interested in the headlamps from the I-Max. I think that they look better than the OEM lamps, but I need a better pic to be sure.

Did a quick google search on it, and yeah, I'd say it looks a lot like the Premacy/Mazda5 to me.

Wow, yea, that's based off the 5 no doubt. How horrible they handled the tail lights. And what's US automaker's obsession with vents!!?? I don't like it, tail looks weird and those rear bumper vent reflectors don't flow well at all.

100% mazda5 based, but glad to see it's more than just a rebadge! At least it has different headlights, taillights, fenders, and probably interior.

I agree with Kansei, the looks are cool yet, to me, all the facelifting made it lose the sporty character somehow. No I-Zoom-Zoom on I-Max! (drive2)

Oh well, the Ford way of working at last (the typical Ford Fusion - Mercury Milan thing). At least better offer due to more demand for MZ5 parts...

I agree the damn vents aren't looking that good (those on the side)... But the front bumper looks nicer IMO. Don't like the taillights either. BUT, I don't know why, but I like side mirrors flashers (headbang) (cabpatch) .

Definitely mazda 5 based; probably it will never make it to N.A though. Ford does still want to offer big cars here. Apart from the Focus, they bidding a lot on the Fusion (loser) ...

They look the same as the ones you can buy off eBay from they guy who sells accessories out of Taiwan, for $100 or so.

yeah i felt the same way about losing its sporty-ness. i dont like the ford chrome grill thing either..i like the rear tailights alot better though.

Don't listen to me, but I just saw a brand new KIA Sedona today. Is it just me or the Sedona headlights seem very similar to the I-MAX ones?

Anyway, would be great to see those on the MZ5 (if the fit), let's just keep the Mazda grill please
