is it ok to cover up amps? Someone told me they neede air to breath or something like that. I was planning on putting in my amp and sub but decided to sell them becuase i need the money...

Covering amps isn't a good idea oif they run hot or have zero ventilation. Some fans under that floor would be enough to keep things cool as long as they aren't running minimum impedances and have the gains cranked.
I wouldn't try it with Rockford Fosgate amps as they can get extreamly hot.

When the summer comes those amps are going to start shutting off. Great install though. I'm going to do something similar but my goal is to get a pair or trio of 8" Illusion Audio subs in the floor as well.

Actually the cover will be out of there in the summer. I mostly wanted the cover so when I am carrying things it wouldn't scratch the stuff under it. Also, I had the same setup in the spare tire well in my 99 VW Jetta (huge spare tire well) and never had a problem with the amps getting hot at all. JBL amps get warm but that's about it. Now I have seen some RF amps and MTX amps that you could probably fry eggs on when they heat up. I plan on installing some fans though just to be safe. Once again I would like to tell everyone thanks for the kind words on my setup.

ah yes...I should have requested the non-stick surface on my MTX amps when I bought them.
