Powdercoated valve covers and Chroming Pics
Hey everyone I am new here, I usually post on the www.toprotege.com site. I do powdercoating as a hobby out of my garage and just recent did my valve cover in Smoked Chrome. I posted on the toprotege site about giving a discount if I can get 10 people to commit to getting the powdercoating done. I am not a business and this is not a advertisment, just in case the mods think I am trying to advertise a company.
I do this for fun right now as I have a full time job but come January my wife will be giving birth to our baby girl and I'll have time off work to do more powdercoating. Here are the colors I currently have, some colors are considered regular colors as they are a one coat process, other colors require a second coat or a clearcoat or basecoat so its basically geting coated twice so I call them special colors.
Gloss Black - reg
White - reg
red (orangish looking red) - reg
royal blue (ford blue kinda) - reg
metallic silver (not overly metallic) - reg
Candy Red - special (requires basecoat)
Candy Blue - special (requires basecoat)
Almost chrome - special (requires Clearcoat)
Smoked Chrome - special (requires Clearcoat)
I can add a red or blue metallic additive to the Candy colors for $5 extra, very metallicy
Here are some pics of stuff I have doen so far, I have my engien Mustang engine powdercoated so far and my Mazda valve cover done, but I have done a few other things as well.
smoked chrome mazda valve cover
Here is the new high temp black for headers, I am testing this new powder on my own headers to see how it stands up to the heat, it says good for 1000+ degrees but I will believe that when I see it, I have tlaked to guys who have used this and they say it works great.
Here is smoked chrome versus almost chrome ( no clearcoat on these parts at the time of pics) Clear makes it a little more glossey)
My P5 rim without the clearcoat yet
My engine in Royal Blue with Smoked Chrome intercooler pipes
My engine with Almost Chrome intercooler pipe before I switched to the Smoked Chrome look.
More Royal Blue pics.
Candy Red with red metallic additive for that sparkly look.
Here the intake was done in Cnandy Red with Smoked Chrome, only problem was the clear ocat I used to have turned the smoked chrome to more of a grey, thus why it looks like grey in the pics, the new smoked chrome doesn't change the color at all, the old stuff use to yellow, the new stuff is more glossy and looks mint, as my Mazda Valve cover will show when I get pics of it.
Candy Blue with no additives ( I have a metallic blue additive I have not tried yet) beside Almost chrome and stock FORD grey powdercoating on the top piece.
Here is a normal red I have, looks kind of orangish red in the pic due to flash, not quite as orangey in normal light but still not a great red.
Normally I charge $40 CDN for regualr colors and $60 CDn for special colors, if I can get 10 orders I will charge $30 and $50 respectively. If I dont' get 10 orders I can still do the valve covers but at regular price. If you wish to bring your car down and have everything done in one day that is possible as well, we can arrange that, with removing the valve cover and preping it and powdercoating it, it usually takes a good 5 hours to do, if you just send me your valve cover expect about 1-2 weeks turn around time, but remember that is with shipping times included. I will do valve covers on a first come basis as they arrive.
Email me with questions at v6sprout@hotmail.com and let me know the color you want as I have to order them if I do not have them, I am gonna be placing a order for more powder in the next week or two.
