Hi all!

I'm looking at picking up a 2002 P5 with ~130000km 5spd for $1700 cert(plus tax and plates)

how is this price inline with the average "Private sale" and what should i be looking at that is common issue with the P5's

Picked it up for the asking price has ~149000km (~92500miles)

For the safety it needed brakes all around, tie rod, wheel bearing, tire, and e brake cables.

only issue's i have noticed is at WOT over 5k rpm it has a whine (akin to a turbo) and a drivetrain/tire vibe on deceleration at 60-65mph (in 4th and 5th as there the only ones i tried.

but for a $1700 on the road and driving there is nothing that can touch the price localy with that amount of km's. so now i need to get my deck and sub in and then on to other car mods

its damn near silent compared to my truck lol need to make it audible lol

I have this "whine" you speak of too... I think its a leak in the exhaust somewhere. Also, the vibrations might be due to bad motor mounts. And with that many miles, chances are that is the problem.

Will give them a look, is there a way to tell if the timing belt has been done from looking at the engine?

as for the vibe i cursing at 80-90 kph its not evident, but at 100-120 it is there, it will go away slowly until you hit a bump or crack and its back, at its worst its about equivalent to a warped rotor
