Correct me if I am wrong but the only styles of Protege with the 5 lug is the ES, Speed, and P5 correct? How hard would it have been (would be worthless now that he's got the rims) to get the 5 lug swap?

I know I keep beating this horse with a hammer but I still like Mazda Protege 2's replica wing (minus mid pillar). Kudos to you both for nice Mazdas.

it's not too difficult.

BUT, you've also gotta source the brakes for em as well, since the DX came with rear drums and the 5 lugs are discs

to do the swap, you're talking calipers, hubs, disks, pads, master cylender (I would assume), and while you're in there you may as well do stainless lines... its a fairly strait-forward, but significant undertaking..
