Sometimes, for good low end, you need a little bit of room for the subs to breathe. I mean, at work, we sell a cabinet that uses to 8" subs in a box but the design of the box makes it all come alive. (www.danleysoundlabs.com) Of course, we do professional audio, not car audio. However, I used that one for my wedding and toting it back and forth, it took up very little space in the MSP trunk. I was surprised. The only car specific sub driver that we use it the MTX Thunder 9500. It's a beast too.

I had a 9500 in my protege in a custom box built to MTX's specs

well I had a sedan, and yes it fit

given that the p5 is about 5" shorter, it would have been a tighter fit for sure ;)

That would be the driver. We have a subwoofer that takes up an entire tractor trailer container. It has 40 of those drivers in it. True story. If you don't believe me, ask WMBeaver on this forum or Google, Danley Sound Labs Matterhorn Pics.

thinking of trimming down the box about 1.5-2" and cutting an angle on the seat side. that way it will fit flush to the back of the seat and tuck in another 6ish inches.

not sure if i wanna face my subs to the seats or not, more to protect them. but i know they move a fair bit so maybe flush against the seat is a bad idea ha ha.

im a complete noob to audio so my first box is probably a complete botch but if it sounds good, ish all good.

you can be sure, there will be more msp pic love from me =) still havent got over the new car smell =)
