The rotary has a natural overlap and thus backfire. Very easy to do when the cat is removed. That looks like a single sided exhaust of the HKS variety. Just youtube rx8 exhaust flame. Once I have a midpipe I'll take plenty of pics and vids.

and there is still a cat on the car. the condition of it is unknown though. Were thinking its probably not very good. but he ordered a midpipe friday.
