man. i wish my RH's looked that good =( previous owner neutered them a bit and i did a little bit too =(.
wonder how much it costs to get them refinished... or is there a how to ;)? id walk to work for a week to mint my wheels.

hmmm. can you powder coat over the OE paint or would it all have to be removed? or would it be better to just paint them with basecoat/clearcoat system? thinking i could refinish these np. just grind, fill sand, prep, paint, done.

so get them sandblasted, then fix the curbing, then get them coated? i want the same finish as oem, which is kind of metal flake. is that offered with powdercoating? also, is it safe to have alluminum wheels sandblasted? wont that pit the surface mad? then what do you fill it with to get them mirror like again before powder?

DAMN YOU GUYS! I post a bunch of pics of my MX6 and all you Protoge guys can do is talk about rims... wtf. Sell me some of those RH rims, they would look dank on my car.

And while we're on the subject of those Racing Hart's... i'd say (from personal experience) sandblast those rims, and paint them flat-black... they would look HELLA clean that way.

trying to stay away from the whole bee car thing if i can. seen some really nice split spoke rims in satin black i liked, machined lip... but i dont have $1000 for rims with a baby on the way ;)
and sorry to make your mx6 feel unloved lol. really tempted to pick one up actually. or an mx3. something that i can learn to weld and work on cars with and not worry about breaking cause its not my daily heh. then of course break it at the track ;)
I really just love my girlies mx3 v6 so much.. its auto but it still has balls for sure. i **** so many ricers in that thing, pink vegas fuzzy dice and leopard print steering wheel pad, and all ;)

The 03.5 "hypersilver" color is a 3-stage process; black, then silver, then clear. Its the most expensive color to restore. I was quoted $250 per wheel and even then I'd have to wait until he had several jobs lined up at once, since he had to buy the special paint in quantity at nearly 1,000 bucks at a pop. You can get close to the color if you sandblast and powder-coat with a gunmetal color, but it won't look quite the same... not as deep or rich as the original.

do you know the color code by hand? if not can probably make something similar for a midcoat at most body shop supply stores. though metal flake sucks so much more than pearl to lay out. pearl is supposed to land uneven and stuff where flake is really easy to feck up.. might have to try a few samples and mixtures to get it right, but might be worth it to mint these rare wheels =).

found a video on youtube about brazing to repair wheels the "right way" makes sense. melt this metal substance into the rash, build it up, grind it smooth, paint.
grinding it down to smooth wouldnt be that easy me thinks though. to line it up right anyway.
